Nice weekend getaway

Decided to try a wellness weekend break at Ensana with my partner. We did some hydrotherapy and just chilled by the thermal pools. Good value on medical spa

I was looking for a medical spa package deal and Ensana popped up. I compared a few places and their offer for a week-long curative stay seemed the most comprehensive for the price. I even got an early bird discount which saved me a decent chunk. The treatments, like the mud treatments and physiotherapy, felt professional and were clearly explained. It took about 4 days to reach Berlin from booking confirmation, which was fine. Overall, I felt like I got a lot of value for what I paid, and the quality of the services was high. Can you use a gift voucher for spa treatments only, without booking a hotel stay? Or do you have to be a guest?

I'm pretty sure you can. My friend got a voucher and just used it for a day of treatments, didn't stay overnight. You'd probably need to call them to book though, not sure if you can do it online.

Yeah, you usually can. Just make sure the voucher specifies it's for treatments, sometimes they're for full stays. But generally, spa access and treatments can be booked separately.

Some of their hotels have specific family pools or times, but the main thermal pools, especially the ones for treatments, are usually more geared towards adults or older kids. Best to check the specific hotel's info.

I saw some families with kids in some of the pools, but it wasn't like a water park. More calm, therapeutic-type pools. They might have a separate kids' area depending on the location.

From what I remember, for the medical stuff, they usually do an initial consult with their own doctor when you get there. So you don't need to bring anything specific, they'll check you out.

I've been to both. Ensana definitely has a more clinical, but still luxurious, feel if you're serious about the 'health' part. Danubius is a bit more standard hotel with a spa, if that makes sense.
